Proper maintenance clearances must be reserved during centrifugal fan installation to facilitate future impeller cleaning, component replacement, and routine maintenance. Recommended clearance dimensions vary by model size:


01 | Small Fans (≤2.2 kW)
Reserve at least 50 cm of clearance on all sides of the unit. This allows for routine cleaning, bolt inspection, and belt replacement.
 

02 | Medium Fans (3 kW – 15 kW)
Reserve at least 80 cm of clearance on all sides. This provides sufficient access to open the inspection door, remove the impeller, and replace bearings.
 

03 | Large Fans (≥18.5 kW)
Reserve at least 120 cm of clearance on all sides. This ensures full-machine overhaul, component replacement, and dynamic balance re-calibration can be performed safely.


Key Clearance Priorities:
Always prioritize adequate clearance on the motor side and inspection door side. Never install the fan in a fully enclosed or tightly wrapped configuration.
Proper maintenance clearance significantly reduces long-term servicing difficulty, extends equipment lifespan, and prevents situations where the unit cannot be serviced without disassembly.


Common Mistakes to Avoid During Selection & Installation:
Compact / space-saving installation with insufficient clearance: Once the impeller accumulates dust, bearings fail, or belts break, technicians cannot access internal components for repair. The only option becomes full machine disassembly or even destructive demolition — causing production downtime and inflated repair costs.
Enclosed installation causing poor heat dissipation: Restricted airflow around the motor housing leads to inadequate cooling, resulting in motor overheating, thermal overload, and potentially motor burnout.
 

In short: never sacrifice maintenance access for the sake of saving floor space. The short-term gain of a tighter layout will always cost far more in the long run.
